Fuck Buttons - Street Horrrsing

Fuck Buttons put together noise, post-rock and drone. These 3 sub-genres are becoming more and more popular and the mix of it is new to me. I’m not into drone / noise too much but Street Horrrsing has some unique soundscapes.

Magnetic Fields - Distortion

I like half of this album. The half with the high pitched vocals.
The other half, with kind of a old man singing is horrible, terrible. If you like noise rock and shoegaze give a try, you may like one half too.

The Raveonettes - Lust Lust Lust

First album I check by The Raveonettes.

The sound is indie rock with noise and consequently a little shoegaze influence.
There are good tracks like  Aly, Walk with Me, (the repetitive) Lust,  (the obvious) With my Eyes Closes and my fav, the shoegazing Hallucinations.

Boris with Merzbow - Rock Dream

This is a record of the live union of two japanese experimental legends. However Boris with Merzbow are playing Boris stuff. So Merzbow, a noise god, is working like a fourth member of Boris.

The result couldn’t be better. Rock Dream is an explosion of energy. The four guys are in trance from the very beginning with the 35 minutes epic Feedbacker (which worths the first half of this double disc release) till the end with Farewell.

The setlist is perfect as much as the performances. Merbow‘s textures and noise layers matches incredibly good Boris drone / hard rock. The gathering of these elements goes beyond labels and can only be described as a rock dream.
The audience of this show is really lucky.
Surely one of the best things I’ve heard this year. I was caught by surprise with this record. Awesome.

São Paulo Underground - Sauna: Um, Dois, Três

Once upon a time, the cornetist Rob Mazurek had the idea of coming to Brazil and making some musical partnershis.
The result is São Paulo Underground, with the album Sauna: Um, Dois, Três.

An exciting mix of experimental noise, jazz and a pinch of hip hop.

I just don’t like the hip hop sections, the rest is bliss!

Tujiko Noriko - Hard Ni Sasete (Make Me Hard)

Tujiko Noriko makes a soft and delicate experimental music.
This is a thoughtful yet relaxing album. A very nice rest for tired experimentalist heads.

Ruins - Tzomborgha

A frentic bliss.
Ruins is the best of “experimental music meets progressive rock”.
Tzomborgha is awesome and the Black Sabbath and Mahavishnu Orchestra medleys are very much like a gift.
I totally loved it.
